Arithmometer Arithmometer

In the `30s-`40s, these pinwheel-type mechanical adding machines (a.k.a. arithmometers) were fixtures in banks, accounting offices and stores. Progress brought electronic calculators, then computers. Very few of the old machines survived. We rescued a few and restored them to their original condition. Russian markings, including CCCP, plainly visible on each. Dubbed "e;Felix"e; (after Felix Dherzhinskiye, founder of the Checka - which ultimately became the infamous KGB - and the factory that made these beauties). Hundreds of tiny gears inside - the precision operation will amaze you. Great accent piece for home, office or lobby, whether you're a banker, accountant, Wall Street exec or collector of vintage artifacts. 12"e;x5½"e;x5"e;. 10 lbs. Quantities limited.

These "e;point-to-point wire communication links"e; operate like standard phones. Perfect for any emergency/natural disaster. Great for Y2K! The ultimate executive/secretary intercom system, too! Maximum range 15-20 miles. Transmitting and receiving is one continuous function. Turning hand-crank generator on one phone rings another. 25-30 years old but in excellent condition. "e;Alpha-Zulu"e; notations on lid, in German, prove their pedigree. An extraordinary collectible. Many gramophones were destroyed during the war and only a handful survived the next 50 years. We rescued a few and restored them to original condition. Russian factory markings plainly visible on each. A unique and functional addition to your collection. Perfect for music buffs. Great for radio/entertainment execs, too!
