JERRY ANDERSON'S BRONZE
SCULPTURE
We actually viewed
the wonderful work of Jerry Anderson while visiting
Silver Reef Utah. The pictures below represent the sculptures we saw,
however, the pictures
are from http://www.statues.com/jerrygallery.htm
and http://santafeart.net.
This
is Pegasus Rising.
I
have no idea what Jerry
Anderson meant to convey,
but I interpret this sculpture
to signify man's fantasy
springing full blown from
his imagination. It's an
absolutely awesome piece
and impossible to convey
the sweep of feelings you
receive when you view it.

GOLD
is
pictured
to the left. It's obvious
the excitement this
miner feels over his
find. Even the dog
gets in the act. Jerry
Anderson's sculptures
are very detailed,
portraying every muscle
and expression very
realistically. When
you stand to the side
of this
piece, you
feel as though you
are peering into the
face of a living
human being.

We
were told that one of Jerry
Anderson's favorite subjects these
days is his grandaughters. To the
left you see Jessica. We saw three
others when we visited the
gallery. One was a little girl
playing dress up, another was
a child poolside, and the other
was a small girl with her
collection of beanie babies.
All are lifesize, and the bronze
is quite often painted, so that
these children seem to be
standing right in front of you. |
If
you are ever able to visit Utah, do yourself a favor and drop by Silver
Reef
to see this beautiful work. I now have a new mission in life and that
is to
own a Jerry Anderson bronze.
