Grapes, leaves and vines entwine the body of this server depicting the natural source of the wine nested inside the server. The Silver Banded Cup is reminiscent of the silver chalices so favored by the Greeks and Romans of old. Handcarved grapes, leaves and vines surround the cup banded at the top in silver. Pear Wood, from which the piece is crafted, is very rare and available in only one area of Georgia near the Armenian home of the artist Nairi Safaryan.
