EMU EGG |
These shells have been sanitized and are clean, ready to be worked. The approximate size is 5" long and 3" in diameter with a shell thickness of about 1/16". A small hole is in one end where the eggshell was drained. The outer shell is a dark green and it gradually shades to lighter green and then white with the depth of your carving. All eggshells are unique and the size and color will vary with each shell. We recommend using a high speed carving tool. The egg stand is not included. Emu Eggs

OSTRICH EGG |
Ostrich eggs are a perfect medium for carving, but can be used for painting or decoupage as well. These eggs have been cleaned and are ready for carving. A small hole in the bottom of the egg is necessary for the inside content to be blown from the eggshell. We suggest a high speed carving tool for carving these eggs. The size of these eggshells varies from 12" to 18" around. Size will depend on what is available at the time of your order. RHEA EGG |
Rhea Eggs are are the shell of choice for some carvers. Many prefer them because they are smaller than ostrich eggshells and therefore considered easier to carve. Rhea egggs are smaller than ostrich and similar in size to Emu eggs. These shells are cleaned and ready to carve, paint or display. The surface of a Rhea egg is similar to an ostrich egg, but they are typically more cream colored. The size, color and texture will vary with availability. Rhea Eggs Shipping and handling of $3 per eggshell will be added to your purchase price. |

GOOSE EGG |
Goose eggs are an economical way to learn eggshell carving. They lend themselves to painting also. These eggs are clean and ready for decorating.
