Native to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia, the Ming Aralia is an indoor, ornamental versatile and decorative plant which is the epitome of house plant excellence in bonsai form. The Ming Aralia is especially interesting for its foliage - indeed the name polyscais means many-shaded, a reference to its luxurious foliage. Their stalks carry compound leaves with up to seven or more leaflets. Unlike many plants that branch sideways the Ming Aralia grows vertically. The herbs from this mystical plant are thought to improve health and memory. Easily distingushable by the characheristic two-lobed, fan shaped deciduous leaves which turn deep yellow in autumn.
