Auction is proud to present as it's first offering, handcarved furniture
and home accessories from Lithuania.These beautiful pieces are styled
after the art of 17th Century French artisans and executed by master
craftsmen who come to Lithuania from around the world. Each selection
is a unique original creation and will never be duplicated exactly.
These elegant pieces are created utilizing
long forgotten techniques to insure that each is a museum quality masterpiece.
High quality and sophistication are evident in the durable construction.
Most are crafted from oak that has been naturally dried for years to
bring it to maturity and insure
that it becomes an heirloom to be cherished by it's owner and the generations
who follow him. However, it is possible to craft a custom piece in the
style and material requested by the purchaser. Right now, within the
Lithuanian studios a piece of 4,000 year old black oak is waiting for
just the right request from someone who can appreciate the rarity of
this wonderful timber.
Each carving is symbolic, and as you view
the collection we will point out the legend behind specific carvings.
So, please pay particular attention to the text that accompanies each
piece. In most cases, the figures are representative of the struggle
between good and evil forces in the world with good being the energy
most often triumphant.
