PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR
(1841 - 1919)

Renoir's painting portrays the beauty he saw in the world.  His pictures are done in rich colors and the subjects
are frequently dances, picnics, happy children, young women and nudes. He was a leader of the Impressionists movement. The love of painting was so strong in Renoir that even after he was afflicted with arthritis in 1898,
he still worked with a brush strapped to his arm. Renoir and Monet were close friends, and they both loved
the views and scenes of Paris. Just click on any image or link to see detail or to purchase a print.
